About us

Hi, I'm Jacq!

Jacquelyn Ziegler, LCPC

Therapist

What I do at Aspire.

I started as a therapist with Aspire in the summer of 2022. I partner with my clients as they work to meet their goals in therapy. I specialize in working with complex trauma, attachment wounds, sexuality, relationships (of all structures), LGBTQ concerns, Gender Affirming care, and the impact of systemic oppressions. I am particularly passionate about working with people who are living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Dissociative Identity Disorder(DID), and other trauma and/or attachment related disorders. In addition, I provide education and training to other staff around LGBTQ concerns, Gender Affirming care, sexuality, and consensual non-monogamy.

Why I became a Therapist.

I spent the first part of my career working in sex education, harm reduction, and non-profit management. I became a therapist to be able to continue this work on a deeper, individual level. I believe that every person has a right to not only heal, but to thrive. Trauma, mental disorders, and the impact of systemic oppressions work to not only cause pain, but symptoms often interfere with close relationships and an individual’s access to pleasure and joy. Therapy can help to support people as they heal, learn new coping skills, and most of all, have a space where they are seen, heard, and validated.

Why I chose to work at Aspire.

I am grateful to work at Aspire. Not only do I get to go to work from my home office with my dog by my side, but the supportive environment from coworkers and supervisors is unmatched. In addition, as a Community Mental Health Organization, Aspire accepts a wide range of insurance including Medicaid and Medicare. This ensures people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences are able to access care. Working somewhere that reduces barriers to care is important to me.

My Hobbies and Interests.

I love spending time with friends, family, and my dogs (who are perfect – just ask me), spending time at the beach with my wife (we’re learning to stand up paddle board). I’m a lapsed runner and working on getting back into running as a regular practice. I also love knitting and watching terrible reality TV.
