Within the first five months of working at Aspire as a mental health therapist, I traversed the challenge of moving from all in-person therapy to 100% telehealth due to the pandemic that has forever changed the landscape of our lives. I work primarily with adults, but also serve adolescents and couples to support achievement of their mental health goals. I specialize in treating individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders, focusing on the intersection of mental health and recovery from SUD. I have provided staff training on the treatment of Substance Use Disorders, Intimate Partner Violence and Motivational Interviewing. I volunteer at our Free Markets and enjoy the opportunity to give back to our clients and community. As Program Director, I am able to offer supervision to both LGPC therapists and counseling interns, facilitate our weekly Clinical Staff Meetings, as well as support all staff in meeting Aspire's mission.
I chose to work at Aspire because I appreciate and believe that mental health treatment should be available to those in all walks of life. I align with the goal of reaching underserved populations that have MA/MCR. The supportive, innovative and collective diverse experiences of the Supervisory staff and fellow therapists is what keeps me at Aspire. The great Administrative staff team helps make my work easier and allows me to focus on the services I provide.
In my free time I enjoy painting, sewing, cross stitch, and reading. I also enjoy antiquing and refinishing furniture. I love to go to live rock concerts. My happy place is being on the sand by the ocean, any time of year.
